That would've been really funny ... and incredibly embarrassing. Can you imagine how pissed the officials must have been to be dragged out of bed at 1:00 AM for a hostage negotiation that never happened. Sombeody obviously did this as a joke because they also called the newspaper even before the plane landed ...or maybe it wasn't even a joke and they are all really stupid. Now I know why even my penny pinching father never flys with an Indian airline.
