OT-Hayduke, Bill RE: Thread Discipline

Your criticism raises some interesting points. None of us wants this thread to disintegrate into meaningless spam. But that is not what I believe James is doing.

This thread is a reflection of the collective emotions, thoughts and experiences of its members. It also happens to be united by an interest in the prospects of Applied Materials. It is not too surprising that, at a time when the prospects for this particular company seem somewhat overshadowed by much larger exogenous events taking place in the world, you will notice that a large number of posts here may deviate from the narrowly defined topic at hand.

You have suggested that James refrain from OT posting. There are other alternatives:

(1) You can easily put him on your "ignore" list and never be bothered again.

(2) You can try to persuade the thread as a whole that it adopt stricter standards of thread discipline. I, for one, would certainly agree to whatever standards are agreed upon by a majority of people on this thread.

So if you want to propose such standards, go right ahead.
