HD,

I have now read your previous post which I missed earlier.
You made 2 points:

(1) James OT posts tend to be too long.

(2) James could have used links instead of repeating the post on various threads.

I believe that James already conceded the point before someone else graciously chimed in.

But is bandwidth or memory that scarce? Why? Is there any empirical evidence that the "clutter" has caused any of our "valuable" members to depart?

It still seems to me that you are raising important questions of thread discipline that in my view are best decided by a majority. Repeated urgings for self-censorship are rarely successful IMO.

In any case, there are still the two little buttons at the bottom of this page. One is marked: Ignore this poster. The other: Report TOU Violations.

Sam

Hayduke, OT *** types of posts

There are 3 types of posts here

1. on topic and containing stock or industry news or discussion thereof

2. off topic and containing items of interest to most about recent world events

3. and posts complaining about other posts.

I appreciate types 1 and 2.
