Hijacking was false alarm.

timesofindia.com CREATES HIJACK DRAMA

TIMES NEWS NETWORK

EW DELHI: After more than four hours of anxious moments, Union Civil Aviation Minister Shahnawaz Hussain said the supposed hijacking of the Alliance Air was a creation of confusion caused by false alarm received at the ATC Ahmedabad.

The message to the ATC, which said the plane had been hijacked, was promptly passed on to the pilots who locked the cockpit. All the while, passengers thought the hijackers were inside the cockpit while the pilots were under the impression that the hijackers were with the passengers.

The authorities, not taking any chances, sent a team of NSG commandos into the aircraft, said Shahnawaz Hussain.

The pilots also spoke to Home Minister L K Advani. Advani said there will a thorough probe into the chain of events.

>This reporter displays an amazing ignorance of the history of the Oslo negotiations.

Don't change the subject, the authoer does a pretty good job depicting the daily suffering the Palestinian people endure in the hands of the state sponsored terrorism of Israel. Actually, IMHO, he made the Israelis look not too bad (no, I am NOT kidding).

>He implies that Rabin was going to offer something better than Barak's 'mutated statelet' offer at Camp David. There is NO evidence of this in anything Rabin ever said, publically or privately. The consensus is that Rabin was going to offer 50% or thereabouts, while Barak offered 95%. And Arafat never made a counter offer.

You keep spewing crap here, take it easy. The consensus is that at least Rabin was willing to treat the Palestinians with respect and genuine dialog that will lead to piece, Bibi, Barak and Sharon, well, you know. You keep also saying about the 95%, 50% and crap like that. What Arafat was offered was something like those fancy cheeses (from France?) that have a thousand holes in them, that was Barak's 95%. I guarantee you that if the cheese that was offered was even only 50% but without holes (read: NO SETTLEMENTS, NO ROAD BLOCKS, NO PRIVATE ROADS, blahblahblah) Arafat will jump on it. So, please no more 95% crap, it is insulting to the intelligence we are trying to show in this forum.

Nothing personal, ok?
