The plane came in from the West Southwest heading mostly East and turned right as it hit the Pentagon just before impact. The Plane flew directly over an area just to the Southwest of the Pentagon seconds before impact. The path it was on had both the White House and Capitol and most of DC in the area behind the Pentagon. The White House nor AF 1 was ever an intended target, the plane hit its target
