Jerome,

I think the market is at a point where big moves can happen anytime. I don't feel comfortable writing covered calls untill I feel the market is trading in a range or going down (not crashing or like what happened last month. Right now I will be trading everytime there is 15-20% jump. I sold some yesterday to get rid of margin. Today I sold about 1/3 or my portfolio that puts me in 33% cash position. I will wait for covered calls for a while. I am getting back to my old plan of putting tight stop losses and taking the profit if I make more than 10%. I may buy some leaps in amat, sunw and orcl.
