Isn't time to add to your manifesto? Just razing you. I agree some of today's runs is not warranted, but a most of it was. As always I would like to see more base building to really rid stocks of scarred money. Sure we could get another April like run and then failure, but the attack caused the finally wash out. IMHO Now we have to content with all the people that are still worry that hold above, and of course another attack, which surely would cause what you believe will happen.

Good luck to you in whatever you do,

B

<<Naz 1200. Dow 6000. >>>
No way,Mish, try to cheer up a bit. I've said several times here the Fed will try to hold a minimum 9K Dow.
And there are plenty of options available yet to hold it up. (Pres Bush had one today)
Drop below that and we can write-off any progress and start planting victory gardens.
When you own the printing presses, one can work miracles.
We may even go to an inflation mode which would drive the markets up. One reason Mr G tries to avoid that is that many salaries and retirement benefits are tied to the cost of living ( Retired Congressmen get double the COL increase each year). It would be a huge added expense.
The penalty paid with inflation is that despite a higher market, and nice looking equity gains, our buying power
is reduced and comparative monitary position in society is less.
If you said the common taxpayer or working man would pay for all this (new activity) I would agree completely . Its been that way forever, but it did help pay for an up-to-date Military which seems very useful at this moment.
In regard to your shorts and longs, you are the only one who can decide which best fits your
style. I happen to be selectively long and doing very nicely at this time, since I never learned any bear tactics.
Our success will be much closer tied to the individual stock than the market direction. Bulls make money, bears make money- pigs get slaughtered.<g>
