Cirrus Logic joined the lay-off bandwagon (again) with a 20% cut..it's carnage here. The housing mkt just took a big sh*t as well. The 200k-1 mil mkt has , ah, softened

Where are you - I am near foster city, north of the traditional silicon valley but kindof software focussed - the half-done real estate is amazing
- inktomi huge bldg takes up an entire block
- webvan, no custom bldgs but they were leasing a lot of stuff which is now empty
- women.com - LOL but they had a sign on the side of 92
- Corio an entire complex right on 101 that must cost a fortune and its empty
- excite@home another brand new bldg soon to be vacant??

The bizarre thing is the bldgs are still going up since the crash happened somewhat abrubtly. I predict the vacancy rate to double again next year based on the "completions".

And yes, housing prices are coming down dramatically in the peninsula area of SV whether the real estate agents admit it or not....
