Claims for evidence from authority cannot be upheld because one first has to establish that the person is an authority. Many people will claim to be authorities, but we must have some way of distinguishing who is an authority, and who is not. Without checking to see at least the trustworthiness of the “authority”, authority claims are useless. committedtothetruth.org
