I was going to post something about that serializer/deserializer thing Like Intel would adopt some new, much hyped, Rambus technology and Rambus wouldn't put out a PR on it. Rambus is by its nature such a modest and quiet company, it would be totally in character for them to hide their light under a bushel like that.

On another note, Mad Mike Magee is somewhat back in action, presumably from a laptop in bed. He wrote this curious snippet a couple days ago:

Anyone point me to the new SEC filing between Intel and Rambus? That happened just before I was introduced to the cutting edge of technology, as far as I recall. theinquirer.net

That would presumably be an amendment to this nice little clause that Intel cleverly bought its way out of:

A new Section 4.9 is added to the License Agreement as follows:

"4.9 Additional Intel Obligations.
----------------------------

(a) Intel will use its continuing best efforts in marketing, public
relations, and engineering to make the Rambus-D DRAM the primary
DRAM for PC main memory applications through December 31, 2002;
and

(b) Intel will communicate to the top (10) DRAM manufacturers,
Intel's intention to support the Rambus-D Interface Technology
in its integrated circuits for low end workstation, performance
desktop, and basic PC platforms."
sec.gov

Edgar doesn't have anything new from Rambus since the Aug. 13 quarterly, though. Intel has a ton of junk, but a quick search didn't show anything about the bus people.
