Win, <<<So Intel gets to arbitrarily inflate mhz as a measure, in the Piii-P4 transition, and you don't understand it, but it's cool, because the marchitecture guys are pumping out all this NetB**s* about "more power". But any attempt to actually measure performance in a realistic way is out of bounds.>>>

I never thought this was a zero sum game, but the Mucho-Machos from here, the Intel thread, and Jeremiah are IMO very stupidly trying to create that condition.

WRT Mhz, AMD can indeed pursue focus markets where its processor is more effective.

AMD, IMO, should recognize Intel is the Alpha Dog and let Intel do all (or most of) the missionary work - heavy lifting (advertising and marketing). Intel is the heavyweight. AMD can't stand toe to toe and slug it out in that manner. AMD is quick and light it's feet and should be able to pick and choose markets that it wants to focus on.

Intel needs AMD and AMD needs Intel, but recognize that Intel is in a heavyweight class and AMD is not. Both companies can be more successful, if each recognise what they are good at and play it's role to advantage.
