. It's time for the rest of the world to impose a peace on these by decree. The first step is to declare Jerusalem an open city occupied by the United Nations authorities. If Israel and Palestine don't like it then the UN sanctions them both, massively, and isolates them. Enough is enough.

Believing that the UN, of all people, will be an evenhanded judge between the Arabs and the Israelis is truly the triumph of hope over experience. Or perhaps you liked the little "evenhanded" show they put on in Durban just recently?

I agree. But, bear in mind that the UN is the body that granted Zionists a state, while rejecting Palestinian statehood repeatedly. Still, the UN has been less biased towards Israel than the U.S., so it would likely bring a fairer peace.
