The US through the CIA helped and funded Bin Laden against Russia, the worst of 2 evils..After Russia pulled out, he used his knowledge against us, that is when action should have taken place.Clinton dropped the ball and anyone with a ounce of intelligence knows it..Sorry that you do not.

>>Wrong, he got CIA money from Reagan/CIA all through the 1980s to fight the Soviets.

Wrong. The people who got the money under Reagan are now in the "Northern Alliance".

They are fighting the Talaban.

THe present problems stem from Clinton's actions and inaction. But then again, a key Clinton advisor remembers Clinton saying that no one cares about foreign affairs and that his boss spent less time on foreign policy than any modern president.

And it shows.

My understanding is that after the Soviets left Afghanistan BL left the country returning to Saudi Arabia. Then left and spent a few years in the Sudan (I guess long enough for the Sudan to be declared by the State Department as a country that supported Terrorism). The Sudan ordered him out of the country in 96. At which point, Mr. Bin Laden returned to Afghanistan.
