Good job flying on SWA. Another indicator that tells me they will do even better in the future is the news today that United Airlines Shuttle service is almost shutting it's doors. A friend of mine works for United and he told me (a couple years ago) they referred to SWA as a "thorn in their side". Said the Shuttle service was launched not to beat SWA, only to slow them down.

This is the 2nd west coast casualty caused by SWA. The first was when USAir quit service here after claiming to be the largest short haul carrier on the west coast. Couldn't compete, and packed their bags and went back to the east coast, which SWA is now also going after. Also rated as one of the best companies to work for in the U.S., which helps explain your pleasant experience. They LIKE their jobs, and SWA loves their employees.

Sometimes their jokes are lame (and maybe they have toned down a bit since 9-11-01), but one of the funniest from the attendant on the p.a. system:

"We are now going to dim the lights in the cabin to enhance the beauty of your flight attentdants"

They have fun at work. Imagine that.
