kv,

I made some nice gains on Wednesday thanks to another help from Chambers. I flipped 1/4 of the gain yesterday and bought Oct. 15 puts at 0.95. Only suckers will believe that the rally is for real. But even if I lose on the trade, that should be all right.

I am beginning to admire Chambers more and more. Certainly he has made tremendous stride since the Wang days. And I like the new strategy CSCO is using. On the one hand, let analysts cut and cut estimates while maintaining or upgrading ratings; and on the other hand, it gives Chambers room to reaffirm guidance 2-3 times each quarter (it does not matter that CSCO is going to report operating losses for the next several quarters and maybe more). I think that the 'new' strategy is gonna work for another 2-3 rounds before people get tired of the bs.

And it looks like CSCO is benefiting one time from the WTO disaster. More power to them. BTW, I am here to perdict that Bush's stimulus package won't work just like Fed's rate cut is not gonna work this time around. WTO tragedy basically has changed the government $ flow in the foreseeable future. More $$ will flow into military related defense sector, which certainly won't bring high growth to the economy. We need a peaceful environment to have a slim change to get the economy back to decent growth. Now the chance is probably close to 0 in the near future, to say the least.

It's too risky for me. I very rarely short and I never mess with options.
