She claimed a group of extremely powerful private persons, with total assets of about $300 trillion, intends to legalize its power and to become the new world government.

LOL! So these unnamed tycoons control the equivalent of THIRTY YEARS OF UNITED STATES GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT! WOW. Hmmm, maybe that Face on Mars is real after all, just temporarily camouflaged with the red sand, in fact made of gold, diamonds, emeralds, rubies and some other precious stones we never heard of but will learn to appreciate real soon, retractable, and now shielding members of our new Earth Government from those nasty UV-rays since they lost most of their atmosphere a while back because some of their teenage ancestors made a crude Doomsday Device in the basement and forgot to remote-detonate it when it left the galaxy only. (Little brats, but what can you do?) They like the ruble, but then they loaded up in August '98 right before the debt crisis so you can hardly blame them...

Re: Russian expert

Seem like another Elaine Gazzerelli or whatever her name was. She got lucky and now she's capitilizing on her new fame. However, she does have a good point here:

>> She noted that Americans are consolidating around their government and preparing retaliatory strikes against the "terrorists”. However, Americans are trembling about spending. When they understand after the upcoming, new strikes, that their government can guarantee them nothing, they will panic -- causing a collapse of their financial system. <<

I wonder what the result will be if we get a 2nd attack on US soil? Everyone knows it'll eventually come, but I really don't think the effect is priced into the markets. If it's of the same magnitude I think she might be right in her dire prediction. Sitting on over 50% cash again after selling all my techs. Hoping we drop some bombs soon so energy spikes giving some nice juicy shorts again in natural gas.
