Never say never. Keeping intact the factions right of center that make up the Republican Party much more difficult than keeping intact the factions left of center that make up the Democratic Party.

Much more difficult.

If you don't believe me, then take Jerry Falwell's word on this subject. (Falwell, by the way, is a very astute political analyst ... and I'm not saying that as a joke.)

The question I have is will all those who never bothered voting because the did not see a difference decide that they now see clearly the difference. With President Bush reaching out and former hissyfit screamers against him speaking with moderation will the President Bush be given a fair hearing of his ideas and how many will see the wisdom.
