Re Recession: Am unable to comprehend the term , other than the government definition of some slowing or negative growth, which could certainly be expected after huge past gains in equity value. After going to the home depot at ten AM, I find the parking lot nearly full, lines at the checkout counters, so count the vehicles in 4 rows in the parking lot. 32 trucks, 4 vans, and 6 cars ( what State do I live in (G). These are not old Ford f-100's. Modern 4 door, back seat, double rear wheels, RH mirrors. I've tried for a month to find some workers to build my garage. No luck, construction companies will not even return my phone calls- job is too small. Signs on stores read Help Wanted, not the 'no hiring' of old Every person in this area is working if he chooses, and if not I'll hire him for $10 to 20 an hour.. It would be my guess that the doomsayers of an approaching depression are the super rich with media access who are unhappy because they are not growing 20% a year as they once did and may even have to take a cut in pay (sob) because they screwed up so bad by not running the company in a safe manner. I followed three cars into town on a country road and all three drivers were driving with the left hand and talking into a wireless phone. Scary !
