Decent coffee should be coming down in price.

Coffee prices remained victim to expectations of over-supply, this time falling below the important $400 a tonne level during London morning trading.

Why not short SBUX on the way down?

I plan to take a tiny position in Sbux at 12.5, more at 10, and most at 8 to 8.5. It may not get there, but I think it will within 6 months, likely by February.
Even if I was out of a job, I wouldn't resort to gas station coffee, ever again. I'd switch to tea if I had to... I've found various whole bean coffees at Costco to be adequate, and would resort to them during a Personal Economic Slowdown (tm).

This seems absurd to me.
You think it will fall to 8 so you are buying at 12.5.

Now if you thought it would get to 20 and the downside was 10 that is a bit different. From 8 to 12 is a 50% profit for someone.

Ben -

I plan to take a tiny position in Sbux at 12.5, more at 10, and most at 8 to 8.5. ...

It would appear that a 9 to 5 position as customer greeting dwarf would meet the requirements. -g-
