I'm not an authority on the Koran or even the Bible, but the text you pasted seems simple enough ...

They claim Abraham as a forefather of some kind -- want to make their claim exclusive over the Judeo-Christian heritage. Nice try, but sounds kind of "derivative" to me ... but I am surely biased.

Because Islam puts great empahsis on Mohammed and does not reject the fact that Jesus lived -- it is natural for them to explicitly denigrate Jesus, since Jesus claimed to be the Messiah -- an authoratative position which by definition makes all prophets a little lower.

Last item: Apparently, Islam without the hereafter is not Islam at all. Certainly, Christianity asserts the same over and over ... not sure about contemporary Judaic tradition, but suppose that Orthodox Jews would claim that those which don't believe in the hereafter are not real Jews at all. After all, what's the point in believing in God, if you never get to meet Him.

What puzzles you?
