I thought about merger too. But who? GE? They have done alliances all over the place, with Hitachi, Sebel Systems, etc. but would they announce another company? What is that company? Remember, they deplore anything to do with Microsoft and they are at arms length with Intel (poring of Solaris to Italium chip). Do you speculate there is a company that will take them over? The only one I can think of is GE. What do you think?

Sun/IBM? I doubt it, most likely a poor earnings report. However by eliminating Sun as a competitor and with HP/Compaq showing no leadership, IBM could become the dominant server company for decades if it took over Sun. I'd want a damn good premium for Sun.
