For every instance when generally accepted facts from one era are later proven to no longer be accurate, there are 10,000 instances where faulty perceptions become an unyielding reality far too often........... even though these perceptions are in complete conflict with undeniable & unchanging facts.

Perception is reality.......... Regardless of the facts....... There are countless reasons, excuses & justifications that allow perceptions of reality to ignore undeniable fact. Rarely is it due to altruistic motivations IMVHO. Often it allows one to manipulate others for their personal benefit........ Just look at how frequently religious zealots have held sway over large numbers of impressionable people throughout history via false perceptions. Tell me that false perceptions are never created when money is at stake? What about politics? Competition in the workplace? The list is endless. Heck, if you don't like someone, creating your own false perception is the easiest thing to do to justify why you don't like them. The list is endless.

These are the instances from which my saying originated.

Like I said before, when perceptions are in conflict with reality, deceit &/or denial are often the main cause......... often to the peril of those who cannot or will not seek or accept the truth.

And we wonder why the world is the way it is today. Go figure.
