Yes, restraint, George. Israel has the power to conquer the territories in a couple of hours, or to pick a city, say, Jenin, home of suicide bombers, and blast it flat. It has not done so despite the provocation of daily attacks and daily funerals of Israelis.

If this intifada was going on in Syria, you wouldn't see such restraint. Matter of fact, there was one just like it in Hama in 1982, and Hafez el Assad responded by leveling Hama with artillery and paving over the rubble. Estimated dead: 20,000. Didn't have any trouble after that. Now, that's lack of restraint.
