She is very lucky to have inherited her mothers verbal and artistic talent along with my reasoning and mathematical skills. Really, she can go just about anywhere and found U of C to be a very nice blend of the different qualities she liked at Columbia and NYU. I wonder how badly NYU will suffer from overprotective parental attack fallout anxiety (possibly a new syndrome: OPAFA?). I liked NYU the best of all the colleges we visited (but of course, I still approach college the same way I did as a teen...how many bars and music clubs within walking distance). Her only other college of interest is Wesleyan (CT), but I would much rather she go to U of C. I realize that every one of these places are liberal but Wesleyan seemed extreme.

What a grind it was visiting all of those places last spring(about 8 on the east coast in 3 days). She visited U of C last winter (her best friends sister is a student), and stayed for 3 days. She loved it.

Thanks for your (and Williams) nice comments.
