communism is an evil idea.

I'm no communist (heheh. SI... think about it...) but I'd disagree. Communism, itself, is quite a noble *idea*... it's aesthetically pleasing... there's just the slight drawback that it doesn't actually work. For various reasons.
(As for the manifestations of so-called communism in the real world, well. their near-universal poverty, corruption and oppression - the sheer vileness - speaks for them.)

Whereas capitalism, of course, requires the 'exploitation' of at least one party in every trade, each party presumably feeling that the other is the one being exploited <g> However it does have the overwhelming advantage of actually fitting with the human urge to self-improvement and advantage, and so it works.

<edit> Remembering the thread title that's probably the most on-topic post I'll ever get!

I was concerned, I am concerned and remained concerned.

I am simply arguing that to write off any and all communists as evil can't help but be false.

Marx's ideas may have turned out to be naive or fruitless in some ways, but as I recall the word "evil" never sprang to mind when I (briefly) studied what he was on about.
