I didn't say WHO may have shot it down, just that we should be cognizant of the benefits it may have accrued some party.

Why is there so much uncertainty about how the plane was downed? Did a Ukrainian SAM take it down or not? It's pretty damn hard to be uncertain about such a thing - was there a missile launched or no? Is there a Ukrainian Air Defense unit with unaccounted for ordinance? Does someone want to tell me that target was locked and launch was initiated, on accident? During a training exercise? The Ukrainians are so careless about the safety of their air crews that they will risk accidentally launching a SAM (with or without a warhead) during an exercise? I find it too hard to believe. Damn unbelievable if you ask me.

Someone screwed up majorly, or someone wanted someone on that plane dead.
