"Canada & the US share much in terms of human spirit." Baton, speaking as a Canadian who travels extensively in the US and Canada I can assure you that we have very very similar values and dispositions. The only difference is that we fully realize that we are the mouse that sleeps next to the elephant. As a good friend and neighbour we only ask that in our relationship it be remembered that even an minor rustling in the night by the elephant can have a profound impact on us. OT: Baton, I enjoyed reading the post on Newfoundland but was not surprised. I have spent weeks there hunting and fishing and found these people to be some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. With the cold war over and the traditional cod fishery basically eliminated there is not much economically to sustain them yet they are generous beyond anyone's expectation. Story goes that when they gained independence from Great Britain they had a vote on whether to go US or Canadian and it was less than a hundred votes more for Canada. They gained a great group of citizens.
