EE Times on Power 4:

Looks like it is 0.18u with SOI. Very impressive. Hopefully, the Power 4 has inspired AMD to really go with a dual core Sledge.

M_a_x, Re: "But a question remains : While Duron will hurt a wall at around 1.3GHz, thus having tough time competing Tuallerons, what will intel do with their tons on .18 production capacity?"

You make a good point. My guess is that Willamette for mainstream will take a long time to die off, with large volumes of 1.8GHz to 2.0GHz in the highest selling mainstream segment (the one just below and above $1000). Northwood will be expensive to discourage volumes. Additionally, Intel will probably keep the .18u Celeron for a while to target the lowest end, which still has some volumes. Also, there is McKinley on .18u, Foster on .18u, and chipsets on .18u to take up fab capacity.

But clearly Intel is faced with a very compelling reason to make the transition to .13u ASAP.
