I find the SI investors to be well-informed and good indicators of conventional wisdom

Interesting. I, like you, find SI invstors well-informed but I've always found them to generally be contrarian to the conventional wisdom (at least in the circles I run, which are nothing sophisticated). I don't have one "real-world" friend,-g-, who is bearish. They've felt pain and seen 401(k) drops, but I've seen very little outright pessimism.

Ahh, the things that make a market. -g-

And then there is always that darn Bartiromo factor!
