I have always thought that the big players like jpm will buy up stocks like hgmcy when they gold shorting game is coming to an end..

Haim, i'm more inclined to think that a failed economic policy will be at the heart of the secular bear...aside from the fact that the larger economic cycles suggest it will play out.
the war on terrorism is simply the ice on the cake for the bear - as you say, it is an unwinnable war, and what's more, it is fraught with numerous imponderable dangers.
