Haim, i disagree that this bust would have been curable with monetary stimulus. otherwise the stock market wouldn't have reacted with a 1930's style collapse to the rate cuts. this bust is unlike any other we have witnessed since the end of WW2 - it's the first deflationary recession since the Great Depression.
the additional troubles arising from the WTC attack imo merely accelerated a bust that was already well underway.
