You don't know this. As I said, AMD might makes things very clear when the AthlonXP launches.

Ask yourself this: Would AMD be gracious enough to stop using the naming convention if Intel were to release a Pentium 4 that performs better clock-for-clock? Probably not.

The rating scheme certainly also serves to show customers the performance advantage of the Palomino core over the Thunderbird core. Can you think of a simpler way for AMD to demonstrate this to the average Joe?
