Thanx, SR. You are right. I think most important issues are human ones. I will say, though, that when this thread referenced the Atlantic article that predicted we'd someday call the cold war the long peace (even tho a few here, like tekboy, thot he was misguided), it was illuminating to me and forever changed my sense of necessary deterrants. I'm reminded also of the New YOrk Times piece on the inventors of encryption software who insisted it be available to all--and now are rethinking their views because exactly that kind of software may have allowed terrorists to communicate invisibly. History's gears are shifitng and it will be interesting to look back in 10 or 20 years.
