Wanna: Actually, market research estimates a 17% loss YoY, not QoQ. Unit volumes are actually supposed to be slightly higher than Q2. That means a loss in market share for AMD.

>>That sounds much more reasonable. A 17% drop from Q2 to Q3, even considering the special circumstances of both the economy and the terrorist attack, would be enormous.

Fyo, I'm not sure what sales parameters you guys are looking at, but according to the article from SI here, AMD sales fell 28.6% in Q301, from Q201. Does anything else matter that much in comparison? - Tony

The company said sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 fell to about $766 million from second-quarter sales of $985.3 million.

On Aug. 29, Advanced Micro Devices said it expected third-quarter revenues would decline by about 15 percent from the second quarter.
