saddam taking kuwait was no threat to the united states. Nor was Hitler yet a threat to Britain merely by occupying the Rhineland. Sorry, I stand by the comparison. Sitting by and letting Saddam take over all of the Middle Eastern oil reserves would have been just as senseless as sitting by and letting Hitler take over nearly all of mainland Europe was. You said it yourself just now, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. By the time the level of threat that you require is reached it's already too late.
