Jerome, let's hear few others chime in. I always thought that Europe did sink into the dark ages, actually, until some light came in, from, no other places than, Islam, particularly through Spain. Sure some religions have their "nuts" (I doubt all religions have that drive to convert the rest of the world to their belief as Christianity and Islam have for a long time, but my weakness in historical theology won't allow me to make a definitive statement, all I know is that proselytizing to Judaism is a religious "no-no"), but when these "nuts" are capable of arousing the masses to do the unthinkable, someone needs to step into the breach, or we end up with a new form of Nazism all over again. The Taliban already went so far as to require all non Muslim in Afghanistan to wear a special tagging symbol (no different than the yellow star Jews were forced to wear during the forties). Zeev
