articulate response -- and I agree that there is plenty of blame to go around -- just disagree to the extent which AG as a public figure played a role. I don't believe the "he saves the banks because he has too" line -- he contributed lots to them getting to that point in the first place. You cite the Y2K, but he botched '97 and '98 crises, too and told all the players in no uncertain terms -- you bear very little or no risks. Futhermore, he contributed (very much) to the environment which led up to both of those crises. You make him sound like a victim -- power or perceived power -- implies responsibility, IMO.
