An observation: Most of the valuation arguments appear to be based on rationale analysis. Which tends to be conspicuous by its absence in the pit of a bear market.

Re : stocks real close to zero -- I heard (but never confirmed) that common stock of First City Bank Corporation of Texas (FBT) (formerly listed on the NYSE) ...

rallied from a low of 1 cent to either $3.00 or $5.00 (I cannot remember which).

(By the way, when I worked in Houston in the 1980s, the firm where I worked was located on the 6th floor of FBT's headquarters building).
