Evil quotient? According to my bible, we ALL sin and fall short of the Glory of God. And about being a blessing to live in America, it is a tough thing to judge, as I believe any can be blessed by God anywhere, I do not feel as if America is a ""chosen"" nation. And why are we blessed? We have: Big fancy "church" buildings? What did Jesus say about big fancy barns?(Luke 12:16-21) Riches beyond compare, fed like pigs, given honor for our riches,Jesus says woe, (Luke 6:24-26) We held slaves, when Jesus said to be a servant to all and showed us by washing feet. We've stolen land, as Jesus says "come follow me". We scream bloody murder if our steak is not medium rare as Jesus says "Blessed are the meek", we sue one another out of existence over temporary things, as Jesus says "give your coat also"... on and on and on I could go. We as Americans are users. Yes, we give. We give to many charities...but are we as Jesus says here:: Mark 12:41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on." Do we just give out of our excess? As the bible also says, the rain falls on the just and unjust, I believe I have been blessed in my life. And I cannot speak for each mans temptations, but we sure seem to have it way easy..you know? Dan
