INTC is now back to 1997 levels, where they were having earnings growth problems.

I realize this may be a shock to you but many stocks are experiencing problems right now, not just INTC. We have one of the greatest broad pullbacks in history a recession looming and a war. Sorry to be the one to break the news but you obviously are out of touch.

Intel didn't have significant investment gains in 1997, or in 1998 for that matter.
