Dear friend,

I have no doubt that the way you proceed make sense for you .. and it works. But this is not possible on a large scale.

$35K is a small amount and you can afford to carry the few kilos. But where to you keep you wealth if you have 10 times or 100 times that amount. How would you buy a 300 appartment building this way.

The major problem is assaying your stuff. On a small scale you may have solid relationships already build with your network of merchants and customers, but on a grand scale, this is a major problem that would slow down transactions.

Sorry, I still can't see how owning physical gold can make sense on a global large scale basis.

On the con's you enumerated about the security of the network. You are certainly right that these are threats that exist. But they are temporary threats that are very unlikely to happen. The web has a lot of redondancy and more is beeing built.

In the 7 years I've been using the web, I never had that service denial you suggest for more than a few hours. True, I live near Montreal in North America... but again, as I said, there is so much capacity and redundancy that have been built and are still beeing built that there is only one conclusion one can reach: It is the way of the future, despite the risks.

P.S. Yes please, show that second picture !!
