Re: Again, these are hastily composed observations and I've probably missed some important facts.

You covered your arrière extrémité with the right disclaimer. GLW does not pay a dividend.

ON JULY 9, 2001, CORNING INCORPORATED ANNOUNCED THAT ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAD DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE THE PAYMENT OF FUTURE COMMON STOCK DIVIDENDS. CORNING’S LAST QUARTERLY DIVIDEND ON THE COMPANY’S COMMON STOCK WAS PAYABLE ON JUNE 29, 2001.

John,

Thanks for your input. I do like GLW here and do believe that the stock has some serious potential considering that it's at 5-6 year low. My only worry is that year end individual investor selling might push the issue to around 5. I am almost 100% certain that it will rally at least 25-40% the first two months next year barring a total disaster.

I sold a bunch of GLW Oct. 7.5 puts last Thursday and Friday at 0.40 and 0.45. Bottom line, I don't mind holding the issue long term. Will probably add a bunch at the end of the year if it dips below 6.

I will buy SUNW at below 7.5. It's overvalued at around 10 bucks given its poor visibility and earning number for next year. But I will definitely be an aggressive buyer of SUNW at around 6-7.

good luck,
larry
