Got the following from Schwab Alerts:

Cymer Inc (CYMI) - Analysts' Consensus Earnings Estimate for this quarter changed by 9.09%. The Consensus Earnings Estimate increased from $-0.11 to $-0.10.

And then they sent me this a minute later:

Cymer Inc (CYMI) - An analyst revised their earnings estimate for this year. 1 Analyst(s) revised their annual earnings estimate. The Consensus Estimate changed from $0.32 to $0.31.

I went and looked up the previous report (the revised one isn't available yet, apparently). There are 7 analysts following CYMI. Their FY2001 estimates ranged $0.19-$0.40, median $0.32. Their FY2002 estimates ranged $0.01-$0.96, median $0.50.

I am not bearish at the market currently, but I feel Cymi falls into the category of "manufacturing sector" that may continue to experience earning difficulties for some quarters to come, unless that prediction of a mild and short recession is true. I think it might be, but typically I thought a recession may last at least one year, and the manufacturing sector might get hurt most.

The stock market overall, might go up in my view, just because of low interest rate and liquidity. Cymi may go up as well, but may not be the best stock one wants to own in my view. Zeeve will in no doubt get his $$$$$'s back.

I am trying to deploy my limited amount of money to the best places for best results, but CYMI is not a choice currently. Guys, please correct me if I am wrong.
