Well I know if I had the choice I would definitely want their contract. But if you take a company like Ford who is piling on promotional pricing expenses, suffering from this SUV roll-over nightmare (and obviously not suffering as much as the people in the SUVs, but hurting financially at least), and you throw in a recession with a drop in sales and production, you have company that can lose a fortune in a short period of time. This is why they carry so much cash. As long as the recession is short they can make it across the valley -- or so the thinking goes. As long as it is short. But, they are like the airlines -- they can only last so long.
