Jon: I thought you should take a look at the whole 3G CDMA lineup to give Samsung and Sanyo a fair shot for your next phone.

Jon, my experience with the QCP 860 (thin phone) is that battery life is drastically shortened in rural areas where they may be connections only through analog base stations. The analog mode consumes a great deal more current, apparently even on standby. When used in areas with some analog, I typically get about 45 minutes to one hour speaking time, along with about two hours of standby. In urban areas where there is a strong CDMA signal, I get about two to three hours speaking time and about five hours standby. This is typical operation for me and may vary considerably for others. I don't find the battery charge to be as long as that suggested in the specifications.
