Who is Osama Bin Laden?

news.bbc.co.uk

"By the mid-1990s, he was calling for a global war against all Americans and Jews and in 1998, he issued his famous fatwa (religious ruling), amounting to a declaration of war against the US."

You wrote: "If bin Laden's goal is forced conversion to Islam..."

I realize I said that but his real goal is more likely pure fundamentalist-Islam (by his definition) governments in all Muslim countries, with no Western presence or influence, and anihilation of all Jews. However, despots never respect borders once they establish power, so I do not rule out world domination being his ultimate goal if he succeeds in the Middle East. Just look at the religious tolerance of the Taliban for the example of what he ultimately wants!

It is very important that religious leaders of Islam discredit the brand of Islam that he is preaching. I am very happy to see that happening...most recently the Pakistani clerics' visit to the Taliban to encourage his surrender. See below:

But this is bad news:

Richard,
The only forced conversion Bin Laden is interested in is the kind that takes place 6 feet under. I suspect he is as much anti-european as he is anti-christian. I don't think he wants us on his team. Mike
