techlvr: The most recent discussion of this "chat" feature was within the context of Nextel requiring assurances of that with regard to their use of CDMA - when and if that happens. But I remember your point too. Seems as if all that "chat" was for use of the military and other uses where encryption was a key element - it was to be within the Condor system as I recall - but we know little of the details of that, since it is classified. Seems as if Qualcomm has capabilities in "chat", no? Potential at least. Actual configuration and status unclear. Best. Chaz
