We supported people who were fighting a military enemy. They weren't striking civilian targets. Now that they're striking civilian targets...they are terrorists.

makes sense to me...

One of the points I'm trying to make is that definitions and perceptions are very fluid and subjective. You are correct, the civilian component is a clear distinction, but from many Third World countries' perspectives, the US's foreign policy has directly and indirectly led to the deaths of many innocent civilians. There is always another side to the story, and it usually makes us uncomfortable to hear it, but not listening to it doesn't make it evaporate.

Know this, in light of everything I've written today, I believe that someone came into our (America's) house and murdered members of our family, and it cannot go unpunished--regardless of their motivation.
