Sitting targets

It has ALWAYS made me wonder about how vulnerable large, commercial airliners are to nuts. When I was a kid, the flight path out of SFO used to fly right over the hill across the street from my parent's old house in Daly City. Often the big jets were so low that I thought my kite might be able to get sucked into an engine or I could hit them with my BB gun or a rock. I read a story recently where you can now buy a 50mm rifle from two manufactures... One shot into a fuel tank is all it would take and I think these have a 2 mile range... Even look at the runways and how some can be seen from hotel rooms? Terrorism got its name because it causes TERROR. Easy to see how.

The only consolation we have is this sort of terror has been available for a long time and most don't get off on killing innocent civilians. Bin Ladin and the training camps to breed terrorists changed all that. I believe we need to take out those training camps that teach hate and I would not be surprised if we ourselves will have to limit our "free speech" a bit where we allow KKK type hate to be taught.

BTW, I hesitated to even post this as I think it makes people MORE fearful, but the way to win this war is to NOT live in fear. Now, stop posting and go spend some money! Perhaps order a digital camera from a NY shop that is near the blast zone?
