I know the english language is strange, from the creative days of Shakespear.

What does "commit" mean, please pick the correct number

1.To do, perform, or perpetrate: commit a murder.
2.To put in trust or charge; entrust: commit oneself to the care of a doctor; commit responsibilities to an assistant.
3.To place officially in confinement or custody, as in a mental health facility.
4.To consign for future use or reference or for preservation: commit the secret code to memory.
5.To put into a place to be kept safe or to be disposed of.
6.
a.To make known the views of (oneself) on an issue: I never commit myself on such issues.
b.To bind or obligate, as by a pledge: They were committed to follow orders.
7.To refer (a legislative bill, for example) to a committee.

"who committed the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks"

Those who performed are obviously difficult to punish, but #7 is different, was there a
comittee??

Anyway, congratulation on seeking for the path to a civilized nation not based on
revenge, although it is a very human desire

"They said they accept the right to punish people responsible for a crime, and they were very clear: They are sure bin Laden was responsible," said a senior Western diplomat familiar with the meeting. "They will never say that openly. They will continue asking for proof and clear evidence, but they said . . . the responsibility of bin Laden is certain."

The diplomats were told that while Iran would likely publicly condemn any U.S. attack on Afghanistan, where the ruling Taliban militia is believed to be harboring bin Laden and his associates, officials privately hoped a U.S. response would be confined to well-defined military objectives.

"They said the Taliban and bin Laden are the same, don't try to make a distinction. It's a war against extremism," a diplomat said. "They said that if you fail, they will be heroes and it will be even worse than before, so don't leave the job unfinished like you did in Iraq."

this is a very important development. I'll be suggesting a couple of useful references in a bit.

In other words, please be very thorough while you destroy our enemies, while we condemn you for it. What hypocrites.
